Jaime G. Valdez passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. We will gather to recite the Holy Rosary Sunday at 2:00 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. In support of our city officials and the health of our community, the seating is limited due to the social distancing requirement set by Governor Abbott. We will celebrate his life of 58 years at 11:00 am on Monday, May 11, 2020, at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. Valdez was born on March 25, 1962, to Filemon and Margarita (Gonzales) Valdez in Mathis, TX. He grew up and graduated from Hereford, TX in 1980. He attended South Plains College. He spent almost 20 years working for United Supermarkets as a very loyal and dedicated leader in management. Jaime was the most devoted father to his children and was a part of every event in their life whether it was sports related or with their education. His children were a top priority. He married the love of his life, Elsa Montes, on June 13, 1998 in Lubbock, TX. Jaime was passionate about golf and developed life-long relationships with his golf buddies. He loved grilling for his family and friends. He enjoyed bringing his family together to fellowship with one another. Jaime always carried the best attitude and was positive in every situation even during his illness. His legacy of an unselfish spirit, generosity, and having the biggest tender heart will live on forever. He will be greatly missed by many.Survivors include his wife, Elsa Valdez; son, Jon-Jaymes “JJ” Valdez; daughter, Hannah Elizabeth Valdez; two brothers, Filemon Valdez, Jr., and Javier Valdez; and four sisters, Angie Vigil, Veva Valdez, Adela Moreno, and Diana DeLeon.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cesar Valdez, Henry Galvan and Hector Adamos.The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Riaz and Dr. Yalamanchili from Joe Arrington Cancer Center and the medical staff from Covenant Health and M.D. Anderson in Houston for the special care given to him.

Jamie I’ll never forget how we met it was 2006 when I Transferred 551 it was in December 6th Steve came up to me and hey were having a Christmas party be for we go we’re going to chips have a Get together all of produce guys your more than welcome to come so I did I was just Starting out to shoot pool i was ok at it the next day I went to work Jamie gos I got a nickname for you cue it stock ever since then knowing Jamie was a Joke around Joke around that was him I always remember laughing having fun at work there’s one day got Jamie on a pun very hard with him because you’re so witty at puns I’ll never get what told me I’ll get you on that and it took the hole day to come up with one he it was a Doozy it’s hard to be. Witty around him because he’s good at that was His. Personality he liked to have fun at work and off work he never seemed let things get him always had smile On his face he was very easy to talk to he can be serious at times when he need to be he was a good listener and he would Offer good advice he had a love a family especially Jj and his daughter Hannah he was so Proud of those two kids how they Turned out and how much loved wife he was very Family orientated and the love he had to his Family especially his siblings he do anything for and. the one thing he love do was playing golf if was windy are not he would find a to play Jamie I’m going to miss you buddy one. day we’ll see Each other again your in a good place now
