The family of Jackie Wiley will host a gathering of family and friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A graveside service to celebrate his 83 years of life is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Lubbock. Jackie passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Jackie was born September 9, 1939, to Gordon “Jack” and Bernice Wiley in Dallas, TX. He married the love of his life, Martha Kieth on August 1, 1959, at Ford Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1958. Jackie began his 55-year cotton career at Farmers Co-op Compress in 1957 and retired as Managing Partner from Lov-Cot Warehouse in 2012. He was highly respected and regarded in the cotton industry and made a lasting impact. Jackie was a beloved and devoted husband, Daddy, Gran Jackie, and brother who loved his family most of all. He enjoyed spending time with them at Possum Kingdom Lake, watching sports together, family get-togethers, road trips, and trips to Las Vegas. He was the BEST and will be greatly missed by all who loved him!
Jackie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha; daughters, Denise Thomas and Carri Ballard; grandchildren, Lindsey Thomas (Travis Hatch), Whitney Ballard (Matt Guyear), Kaden Ballard, Stefanie Thomas Lawson and husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Addison Ballard and Colson Jack Lawson; and brother, Bobby Wiley.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Billy Wiley and Ronnie Wiley.
