Jackie Charles Lewelling was born June 25, 1935, to Jesse and Hazel Williams Lewelling in Lubbock, TX. He went on to graduate from Lubbock High School then enlisted in the Navy. He served his tour at sea.

After his service to his country, he married the love of his life Lurline Pair January 24, 1959, in Whitharral, Texas and together they raised four children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild which brought him joy in his life.

His career started as a welder, as well as farming, working at the newspaper, and in transportation as a truck driver. He always looked after the children, being a supporter of Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. Jackie always helped to make others feel welcome and was a devoted family man looking out for those he loved.

Jackie is survived by wife Lurline Lewelling; children, Randy (Julie) Lewelling, Rhonda (Deon) Clements, Ricky (Sherryl) Lewelling, Rachel (Todd) Benson; grandchildren, Randal Lewelling, Cody Clements, Catherine Garcia, Victoria Lewelling, Alyssa Clements, Kealey Benson, Lexie Benson, Iva Lewelling; great-grandchild, Nathaniel Lewelling. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Lewelling, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse, and Hazel Lewelling and two sisters, Jessie Merle Hanson and Ella Mae Hall.

Jackie Charles Lewelling died on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
