A service to celebrate the life of Irene Ann Holland, 99 years of life is scheduled at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Terry County Memorial Cemetery. The family will host a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She died on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Irene was born on October 23, 1923.in Cheyenne OK. She married Earl Holland on February 18, 1944, and upon his return from India in the Army Air Force, they made their home in Brownfield and started farming. Earl proceeded her in death on October 9, 2004.
Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brownfield where she served as Vice President and President of the Bykota Sunday School Class. She also served as Vice President of the Women’s Christian Fellowship of Lubbock and had the opportunity to serve as a counselor at the Billy Graham Crusade on two occasions. Irene worked at Phil’s Apparel and Maxine’s Dress Shop for several years.
Irene is preceded in death by her sons, Gary Holland and Benny Little, grandson Rick Little, and four brothers and one sister.
Irene is survived by her daughters Earlene Dill and husband Hugh of Lubbock and Dana Liberatore and husband Phil of Whittier Ca. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 8 great, great-grandchildren.
