On October 21, 1941, Howard “Bubber” Dwain DeBusk was born to Woodrow and Nellie DeBusk in Lubbock, Texas. He attended school at Idalou and graduated in the class of ’60. He attended McMurray College where he played football.
Bubber married Patricia Sue Jones on August 4, 1961, at Idalou Methodist Church. Idalou is where they set their roots to raise 3 sons and were pillars in the farming community. He was a 4th generation cotton farmer of family land that has been farmed for 102 years.
He was a member of the Idalou Co-op Gin where he spent many hours conversing with other farmers and working on his race car, “Quick Silver”. In his race car days, he brought home many championships and trophies driving in a Late Model Modified Stock Car. Bubber loved playing golf in his spare time.
Survivors are his wife, Pat; sons Brad, Tim (Johna), and Stace (Tami); grandchildren Dru Ammons (Andrew), Dylan, Dray, Dantz, Ashlyn, and Brock DeBusk, and Bailey Smith; great- grandchildren, Liv and Penelope Ammons, and Harper Smith; brother Christopher DeBusk (Mary Jane); sisters Lynn Neff and Tondya Bownds (Lance) and many nephews, nieces, great- nephews and great-nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Nellie DeBusk, brothers Rex Keith and Jerry Don DeBusk and daughter-in-law Diane DeBusk.
He passed and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 27, 2024, peacefully in his sleep.
