Hilda, daughter of the late Theodore and Ermenia (Garza) De La Garza, was born at home in Sonora, Texas September 8th,1940. She was the 9th out of 13 children. At the tender age of 9, she began helping care for her younger siblings, Gloria, Norma, Linda, Ed, and her niece, Alda (Amaro) Moreno.
