The family of Herbert Eugene Westbury will host a gathering of family and friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service to celebrate his life of 87 years of life is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Bacon Heights Baptist Church, followed by a graveside service at Dawson County Cemetery, Lamesa. Herbert Eugene Westbury was born July 23, 1935, to James and Letha Winnie (Dodson) Westbury in Ringling, Oklahoma
Herbert was a friend to all he ever met, he loved working on cars and loved fishing. He was a crossing guard in his retired years and loved all the children. He was an active member of the lions club for over 30 years. To know Herbert is to never forget him, his laugh and smile were so contagious. He was a member of Bacon heights baptist church and ushered there for many years. He’s been a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend his memories will forever be etched in our hearts.
Mr. Westbury is survived by his wife, Marcella Westbury; daughter, Sandi (Stan) Rogers, son, Danny Westbury, step-children, Donna (Mike) Burkett, and Travis (Shawndell) Barron; grandchildren, Candace Garza, Brittany Norwood, Trina Westbury; step-grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) Cayless, Erica (Charles) Hanshew, Luke Burkett, Shea Burkett, Conner Barron, and Sawyer Barron, great-grandchildren, Emma Garza, Izaiah Westbury, Emberleigh Norwood, Conner Hernandez, Reyna Hernandez, Eastyn Norwood, and Noah Hernandez; step-great-grandchildren, Drew Hanshew, Cole Hanshew, Colton Cayless, Emma Hanshew, and Elizabeth Cayless; sister, Nora Jean Long; and a brother Randy Westbury.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James, and Letha Westbury; stepfather, Jess Henning; grandchildren, Colt Randles and Kaitlyn Randles; and a brother, Joe Westbury.
