Henry Alfonzo (Al) Licon, 82, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at his residence in Lubbock, Texas, with his wife and family by his side. Al was born to Juan F. and Aurelia (Baray) Licon on October 27, 1935, in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from El Paso High School and earned his Engineering Degree from University of California Berkeley. Al served in the US Army as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He worked and retired from AT&T as an Engineer and from the State of California.
Al and Mary Frances Cain Norris married on June 15, 2012, in Martinez, California. They lived in El Sobrante California, until 2018 when they moved to Lubbock.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, and by a daughter, Karen Licon.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances of Lubbock; his daughter, Catherine Marie Nelson of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren, David Aakvik Licon Rietan, Christian Alfonzo Licon Rietan, Michelle Licon Reitan, and one great grandchild Mathias Licon Kristofferson of Norway; and a nephew and three nieces.
