The family of Glyndol Snodgrass will celebrate his life of 86 years with private family services. The service will be live-streamed on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.Glyndol Lynn Snodgrass of Lubbock, Texas, joined his lord on, December 23, 2020. He was born June 7, 1934, at home in Rotan, Texas, the 9th child of Audy Calvin Snodgrass and Edna Bernice Chance Snodgrass. He grew up in Lohn, Texas where he graduated as valedictorian of his class and went to college at Sul Ross on a basketball scholarship. He graduated from Sul Ross with a BS in Secondary Education and joined the US Army. After the Army, he moved back home to Lohn to help take care of his mother and sisters who were still at home and it was in Brady, Texas that he met the love of his life, Susan Sorell.Glyndol and Susan were married on January 27, 1961, and moved to Forsan, Texas where Glyndol taught school and they both enrolled in Texas Tech University. He earned his Masters of Science in Education Administration and Susan was awarded a BS in Secondary Education in 1964. While living and teaching in Forsan and Post, as well as going to school, they welcomed two daughters. After moving to Waco, Texas, they added a son to the family.Although his early career was in education, Glyndol and Susan moved to Cuero, Texas in 1970 where he owned and operated Standard Printing Company for 14 years. Upon selling that business he went back into education and retired from Tarleton State University in 1993. While teaching at Tarleton, he also ranched and raised registered Red Brangus cattle.Glyndol and Susan made the most of their retirement, traveling with their friends and family as well as spending time with their RV friends all over the United States but Eagles Nest, New Mexico always held a special place in their hearts.He is survived by his children, Constance Donels, Elizabeth and Joe Hardin, Mark and Christi Snodgrass, and Pamelia and Robert Shannon. Additionally, he is survived by his seven grandchildren, Sarah and Brad Hawkins, John and Kourtney Hardin, Jacob and Megan Hardin, Adam and McKenzie Donels, Jane Donels, Claire Snodgrass, and Luke Snodgrass. He also loved his 5 great-grandchildren; Emma, Tyler, Bowen and Piper Hawkins, and Demi Hardin.He is also survived by his brother, AC Snodgrass, and his sisters, Ivell Smith, Vera Nell Hall, Lunnett Boysen, and Brenda Ziriax. Numerous nieces, nephews, and former students will miss him.As a proponent of education and helping people, the family asked that donations be sent to the Carillon House Scholarship Fund, Hospice of Lubbock, or the local food bank of choice. A private family service will be held in his honor.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and respect to the professionals of Comfort Keepers and Hospice of Lubbock who provided care and support during Glyndol’s illness. Their gifts were invaluable.
