Gloretta Ellen Colvin was born on September 7, 1939 to J. and Iris Blakely McSpadden in Afton, Texas. Glo was a strong woman who was no stranger to hard work. She dedicated her life to raising her three children and establishing a home for her family. Glo taught her children, and anyone else who would listen, the loving faithfulness of our God and His Son Jesus the Christ.
Glo worked very hard. She worked at the Coop Cotton Gin in Lubbock Texas for almost 30 years. Glo loved reading her books. She could read a book in a day and read many during her years of retirement. But she loved nothing more than her children and especially her Lord. She will be remembered with love and warmth by her children and those who know her, until that blessed day we are reunited with her again.
Survivors include her children, Paul Stephenson, Allen Colvin and wife, Shanda; and Tonia Stephenson; grandchildren, Kyle Stephenson and wife, Kristi; Katie Stephenson; and Christopher Hill and fiancé, Emily Sturiale; great-granddaughter, Kinley Stephenson; two brothers, W. J. McSpadden and wife, Babs; and Jax McSpadden and wife, Delwyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. and Iris McSpadden; brother, R. L. McSpadden.
