Edna Adams left a message on November 8, 2019:
It’s been so hard without you my Love. We had 42 years of marriage and you were and are the live of my life. I can’t seem to function without you. I know someday we will be together again. You could fix anything, please fix my broken heart. We had our ups and downs with your parents and our kids, but our love never wavered. The one thing everyone keeps saying to me is how much you loved and adored me, a person can go a lifetime and not find a love like you and Gerry. You were a stinker at times and a fibber but I never doubted your love for me. This life is so hard without you. Never ending love. Edna

My parents were best friends with Luke and Opal Adams, so I knew Gerry from an early age. We were born in the same year, so we were expected to keep each other entertained, so we played a lot of monopoly and other board games while the parents played dominoes. His parents were wonderful people and are buried close to mine. The last time I saw Gerry was after his first wife got very sick, and at the time was in a wheelchair. I felt so sorry for both of them. I am so glad to hear that he went on to have a wonderful life with several children, and a loving wife. As for his work ethic, his parents were both hard workers, and as I remember Luke was a person who could fix things too. My sympathies to each member of his family.

Dad,Though the last year and half may not have been the best year for you as far as your health goes, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I know that sounds a bit selfish, but having you out here and being able to help take care of you for 5 months, helped me grow as a man, father and husband. As I look back on our time together, I am grateful for all the life's lessons you taught me. Most were hard to understand in my youth, but became clear as I got older. I wish my flight out to surprise you had been a day earlier so I could hug you one last time and tell you that I love you. I am however grateful that we were able to talk the day before. I have no doubt that you loved me or that you knew I loved you. I am comforted in knowing you had a relationship with Jesus and you are with him now and that one we will see each other again. I Love You Dad!Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”Joshua 1:9 NIV

Gerry was my first husband. We were teenage sweethearts, who ran off to Mexico when he was 17 and I was 15. It was a brief marriage, no children. I hope my teenage husband had a happy life and painless death.

Gerry Adams worked everyday of his life, he even made his hobby of Hot Wheels make him money. A down to earth guy who also believed in not taking any talk back from anybody. He believed in puckering up & giving kisses if he loved ya. You could ALWAYS find him piddlin'. Gerry had a knack and a vision for restoring things into a better condition then when he first found them. He believed in living & loving to the max. Lord Please Bless, these hearts that Gerry has left behind now that he is beyond our vision. His spirit will remain within and all around us, Amen. ~Heartfelt Prayers from my family to yours
