Gerald Wayne Wilson passed away Friday, April 13, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 73 years on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church. Gerald Wayne was born on May 10, 1944 to Troy and Uvonne Bryan Wilson in Girard, Texas. He served as a marine Sgt. for 4 years. While he was in the marines he married Peggy Baxter. They had 2 children together. Starting in 1966 He started working for Dan Phillips an Electrician. Several years later in 1972 he ventured out and owned his own business Gerald Wilson Electric. He enjoyed boating, quail hunting, cooking, collecting guns. During the late 70’s he also raised race horses along with cattle. He loved to work in the orchard and garden. Survivors include his daughter, Tawnya Hogan and husband, Michael of Wimberley, Texas; grandchildren, Taner Houk; Lynnsey, Katelyn, and Reagan Hogan; son-in-law, Terry Houk; two brothers, Eddie Wilson and wife, Maggie; and Travis Wilson and wife, Debra; significant other, Patsy Wasler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Uvonne Wilson; daughter, Tammy Houk; and brother, Ronnie Wilson.
