George Henry Keesee, age 81, Lubbock, TX, passed away on July 23, 2023. He was born on June 4, 1942, in Harmon County, OK, to Wesley and Nadine Keesee. He was a 1960 graduate of Ron High School and later attended South Plains College. He married Marilyn Luck on October 19, 1963. George started his 41-year career in system construction and retired as a Substation Manager at Southwestern Public Service (Xcel Energy). After retirement, George served as a supervisor at Windmill Farms Installation. Most importantly, George gave his life to Christ in 1963. In 1976, he was ordained as a deacon at Elgin Avenue Baptist Church. George was married to Marilyn for 59 and ¾ years. He enjoyed working, vacationing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Keesee is survived by his wife, Marilyn Keesee; son, Brent (Lea) Keesee; daughter, Karla (Brian) Roper; grandchildren, Emily (Kohl) Matcek, Natalie Keesee, Brady (Justus) Roper, Trevor Roper, great-grandchild, Camden Roper; and siblings, John (Sandra) Keesee, Reba Leer, Elaine (Butch) Pugh, and Wanda Kerbo.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Nadine Keesee.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of George Henry Keesee is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a time of visitation. A private family graveside will be held Friday morning. A viewing will be held from noon until 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
