The family of George Guevara will celebrate his life of 75 years at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the Calvary Baptist Church. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 1, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. We invite you to view the live-streamed service and sign his virtual guestbook on this page.On February 22, 1947, George was born to the late Eusevio and Francisca (Vera) Guevara in Plainview, TX. He married the love of his life, Juanita Magallanes on August 8, 1970, at First Baptist Church, Slaton, Texas. George joined the USAF where he served his country in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, he received his B.S. from Texas Tech University and his M.Ed. from Sul Ross State University. George was an educator: teacher, coach; counselor; administrator; and retired after 39 years. He enjoyed playing golf and dabbled in woodworking. He really enjoyed working with young people many of whom still fondly call him Coach G. George was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years.Survivors include his wife, Juanita; their sons, Reuben (Carrie) Guevara, and James (Analisa) Guevara; three grandchildren, Reyes, Mia, and Malachi Guevara; and siblings, Eusevio (Frances) Guevara, Jr., Rudolph Guevara; Irma Sanchez, and Nelda Berger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
