His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance after the service at the home of granddaughter Diana Hurst, and all are invited. George passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. They spent 42 years together. Their love for one another was evident to all who knew them.George Elton Davidson was born to JT and Juanita Davidson on August 25, 1939. George was active in the community. He was a past president of Lion’s Club and past president of South Plains Racing Association.George was an avid NASCAR fan and cried the day Dale Earnhardt was killed. He built and owned several race cars and would race every week at Lubbock Speedway.He owned George Davidson Construction and built the South Plains Mall. He also owned the Garden Center, the Green House, and Devault Flowers. He retired from the City of Houston as a construction inspector. After retirement, George and DeeDee moved back home to Lubbock.George was a character to the very end. His language was colorful, and he made no excuses for the life he lived. He left this earth with no regrets.George was preceded in death by a son, Frank D.; parents, JT and Juanita; brothers, Bill, Paul, Atwell, and Horace; sisters, Cherry, Wanda, Sue, Juanita, and Fanny.He is survived by his wife, DeeDee; sons, Danny (Thumper), Terry (LeaAnna), Billy, Scott, and Brad (Elissa); grandchildren, Diana, Caleb, Amanda, Danis, Dustin, Beau, Rochelle, Scottie, Cody, and Taylor; sisters, Jimmie and Charlene. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
