Gene Adamson, a remarkable man of adventure, passion, and undying spirit, passed away September 2, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 16, 1948, in Iraan, TX, Gene was the loving son of Agnes Caroline Slaughter and George Herbert Adamson Jr.
In 1952, the Adamson family relocated to Crane, TX, where Gene remarked, “You can’t see nothing as far as you can see.” He graduated with pride from Crane High School in 1967. Duty called in 1969 when Gene was drafted into the US Army. With valor and pride, he served as an Army Ranger until 1974.
Gene’s love for the skies began at an early age, a passion inherited from his father, With over 20,000 flying hours to his name. On the ground, his heart raced with the revving of engines; from riding motorcycles at the young age of 12 to sharing this zeal with his three sons. He had an immense love for dirt bikes, his treasured Harley, and adventurous Jeeping in the mountains with his family.
As a man who loved the dance of life, Gene could often be found dancing the night away with his sweetheart, Traci, at Chances R. The two sealed their love story in matrimony on October 14, 2017.
Gene was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Agnes Caroline Adamson and George Herbert Adamson Jr.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Traci Adamson, and her children, Whitney and husband Wes Hunsaker, Ryan Wiggins and Chelsea Harris and Jordan Owen. His legacy lives on in his sons Randall and spouse, Lina Adamson, Cody, and Cristan Adamson and spouse, Jackie Adamson.
