He married Dixie Bell on April 7, 1966, at Clovis, New Mexico.Survivors include his wife, Dixie Hamar; their children, Karla (Don) Myers, Cary (Jenny) Hamar; grandchildren, Ryan Hamar, Gala Myers, Rachel Perkins, Hannah Jenkins; siblings, Tommy (Barbara) Hamar, and Don Hamar.He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Joan Hamar.
