Francisco Rodriguez Jr. (NONO), 53, went to his eternal home on December 16, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
NoNo was born November 13, 1969, in Lubbock, Texas, and the son of Francisco Rodriguez and Virginia and Abram Lara.
NoNo built a strong close relationship with Priscilla Vargas for 40 years building bonds with his Yes Yes, Angel, and her sons Steve and JoeRuben Lopez as babies. Together they could always rely on each other for support and created a happy, fun, and great relationship.
NoNo graduated from Lubbock High School and attended South Plains College. NoNo was athletic in his younger years playing baseball, basketball, and YFL football. NoNo worked as a painter for his Uncle Paul’s family business. NoNo took great pride in working for his Uncle Polo. Later on in his life, NoNo worked alongside his mother Virginia Lara. NoNo was an avid Washington Redskins fan. NoNo was known for his laughter, great smile, and his unending funny jokes. NoNo was the firstborn of both sides of the family. NoNo was a favorite nephew of Aunt Mary, Teresa, and Tina along with the rest of his Aunts. NoNo got his nickname from his Aunt Mary. He appreciated his Aunts for all the love and care throughout his life from being a baby until now. NoNo had many friends since childhood that still remain until now. NoNo had a great, humble caring heart that always would give what he didn’t have to help others without expecting anything in return.
NoNo will always remain in many hearts leaving great fun memories and being greatly missed. His laugh is one that cannot be forgotten along with his smile and jokes that will keep you smiling in your heart.
NoNo is survived by his sons, Andrew (Destiny), Noah (Kylie), and Nathan Rodriguez; grandsons Kaden, Landen, Matthias, and Ashton; sister, Oralia Rodriguez; nephews, Brian, Josiah and Izaiah, Zayden, Bryden, and Romeo; stepsisters, MelissaLara, Jessica Lara and Special Friend Priscilla Vargas.
NoNo is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pablo (Alejandra) Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Jorge and Betty Pina; Uncles Paul Rodriguez and “Esquite” Pina; Aunt Sylvia DeLeon, and Victoria Rojas, and cousin Joseph Rodriguez.
The family of NoNo is gathering to recite the Holy Rosary, Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel. A Celebration of Life honoring NoNo’s life of 53 years is scheduled to be Thursday, December 22, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Church of The Blessed International, followed by a graveside service at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
