Our beloved Frances W. Autry went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 14, 2018. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering of friends and family to celebrate her 90 years of life on Saturday, October 20, 2018, from 2 to 4 pm at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.
Frances was born on March 27, 1928 to Clyde and Oma (Skirlock) Mahle in Lorenzo, TX. She graduated from O’Donnell High School and married Allen Autry “Bud” on September 1, 1950 in Clovis, NM. She moved to Lubbock in 1953, and still lived at the same residence. She was member of Trinity Church. Frances started working at Sears for 25 cents an hour as a sales clerk. She also worked in the catalog department and in the office during her 25 years of employment with the company. Frances also worked as an election clerk for the county elections from 1963 until last year and was recognized for 53 years of service. She was an avid reader, and a dedicated student of the Bible. She enjoyed her Bible study group and provided the transportation for that group. She was passionate about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished all the time she was able to play with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Allen Vell Autry, Sr.
Frances is survived by her son, Allen Autry, Jr. and wife, Vista; daughter, Paula Beth Averyhart; grandchildren, Amber Martinez and husband, Billy; Brian Autry and wife, Shelley; Keenon Autry all of Lubbock, and Shanna Averyhart of Biloxi, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Moses and husband, Kane; Caitlin Autry, Aiden Martinez, Caleb Martinez, Elijah Martinez, Maddison Autry, and Melanie Autry all of Lubbock; and A’Jenon Liles and Anaya Averyhart of Biloxi, Mississippi. She also had numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
