Frances Marie Brown of Lubbock, TX passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Her family will celebrate her life of 90 years at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 22nd at Calvary Baptist Church.The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 21st at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A private graveside service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 23rd at Resthaven Memorial Park.Frances was born August 5, 1931, to John and Hallie Roberts in Shallowater, Texas. Her family moved to Meadow in the late 1930s where she lived until she moved to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech. She married the one and only love of her life, E. Jack Brown on May 28, 1951, in Meadow, Texas.Frances attended Texas Tech for two years until she and Jack married. While attending college she worked full-time at Hester’s Office Supply as a secretary-receptionist until their first child, Steve, was born. It was then that she became a full-time homemaker.She and Jack had two additional children, Jacque, and Sandy. She finished her degree at Texas Tech when Sandy, their youngest daughter, started kindergarten.Frances’ spiritual gift was the gift of service. She took great pleasure in hosting events such as weddings and baby showers in their home. She loved entertaining family and friends and always had an extra bed for friends who might be traveling through Lubbock. During her kids’ school years, she served as Cub Scout Den Mother, Blue Bird Leader, Homeroom Mother, and an active member of the local chapter of the school Parent Teacher Association (PTA).She poured her life into her family and their church as a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lubbock, for more than 70 years. She and Jack were very involved in the church in many different capacities. Frances served on the Texas Christian Life Commission for the Baptist Convention of Texas for several years.She served as a volunteer at Lubbock General Hospital Auxiliary, now known as University Medical Center, contributing over 5,000 volunteer hours, and serving as the Auxiliary President in 1985.All would agree that Frances was a people person and loved helping others. She was known as a giving, gentle, loving, caring person who was also known as a prayer warrior for those in need.She is survived by her son, Steve Brown (Cheryl), daughter Jacque Brazell (Ricky), and daughter Sandy Lynch (Jay), all of Lubbock. Grandchildren are Carrle Larsh (Chad) of Tyler, Casey Brown (Larry) of Lubbock, Preston Lynch of San Angelo, and Hallie Brown of Austin; nine great-grandchildren, and brother Jerry Roberts of Hereford. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Hallie Roberts, and her husband, E. Jack Brown, a granddaughter, Christie Gutierrez, and brother, Dan Roberts.The family wants to give a special “Thank You” to the staff at The Isle of Raider Ranch for all the care and love given to her and Jack for several years. Thank you also to the aides at the healthcare facilities of Trust Point and Crown Point, for the tender care extended to her in the final weeks. Her kids appreciate the care shown to her by strangers, who soon became her friends.
