Florence Adaline Klein was born April 8, 1930, the fifth of six children to Leo and Myra (McLaughlin) Young in Cincinnati, OH. In her early years, she worked as a Comptometer Operator. On April 20, 1950, she married the love of her life, Paul Klein, in Cincinnati. She and Paul lived in Kentucky, Michigan, and finally in Texas. They lived for many years in Abilene, where Florence worked for the Abilene Independent School District and baked all those delicious breads, pizza doughs, and sweets for the students and staff. She was a founding member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Abilene, and supported her husband as one of the first deacons of that church. In 2015, Florence moved to Lubbock to be closer to her children, Kathy, Maria, and Gary. In her younger years, camping and fishing with family was a favorite. Florence enjoyed working with her hands and dabbled in many crafts, from embroidery, and ceramics, to painting, and her collection of dolls was unmatched.
