Enrique Montez

The family of Enrique Montez will celebrate his life of 63 years at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Enrique passed on Monday, October 19, 2020. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service.  The service will be live-streamed on this page, and you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.

Enrique Montez was born on October 4, 1957, to Pablo and Gloria Montez in Artesia, New Mexico. He married Linda Avalos on February 6, 2010, at Lake Van, New Mexico. Enrique (Henry) Montez was battling with COVID-19; he was hospitalized from October 1 through October 19. The hardest part wasn’t just the battle for him but the battle for us not helping him through a tough fight that no one should have to go through. Our loved one Henry may have been alone physically, but our Lord Savior was with him every step of the way. Henry was known as a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Henry is a person who loved spending a lot of time with his family, especially with his younger grandson, Paul. Henry also loved watching t.v., especially westerns, even though he watched it with his eyes closed on his favorite chair. He also enjoyed doing woodwork; he was such a creative person when he put his mind to it. He would like to fire up the grill and cook some steaks on a hard-working day, and personally, they were amazing. One thing we all know and cherish is that Henry had this beautiful smile we will never forget. 

Thank you for Henry’s life and all the years we shared with him. We lift him to you today in honor of the good we saw in him and the love we felt from him. Please give us the strength to leave him in your care, in the knowledge of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Montez, their children,  Becky Carrillo and husband, Paul, April Avalos and husband, Luis, Jasmine Jumma and husband, Saul, Daisy Avalos; grandchildren, Paul Baca, Pat Baca, Angelica Carrillo, Zack Carrillo, siblings, Albert Montez, Pete Montez, Adam Montez, Paul Montez, Al Montez and wife, Carolyn, Lupe Salas and husband, Leo, Mary Ludlow, and husband, Tony, Delma Perez and husband, Manuel, Gloria Anaya and husband, Tim, and deceased brother Ruben Montez, and his parents, Pablo and Gloria Montez.
