Elois Lovella Roberts’s family will celebrate her life of 92 years at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm MST at Memory Gardens in Hobbs, New Mexico. She passed on Saturday, January 23, 2021. In support of the health of her family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service. The service will be live-streamed at www.memorialdesigners.net, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.On January 10, 1929, Elois was born to Robert and Inez Lambert in Medicine Mounds, Texas. She was raised with two sisters, Shirley Campbell and Kay Hill. She married Gene Roberts on December 21, 1946, in Hobbs, New Mexico. Elois moved to Hobbs in 1945 when she was a junior in high school and graduated in 1946 from Hobbs High School. She and Gene met on a blind date and was later married on December 21, 1946. They would have been married 65 years on December 21, 2011, before his death on December 12, 2011. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church since 1963, before moving to Lubbock in 2012, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Lubbock. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and collecting Snow Village. After Gene retired, their hobby became RVing, traveling, and spending their summers in Ruidoso, with other RV friends for several years. Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Lyndon) Hardin of Lubbock; sister, Shirley Campbell of Lubbock; grandchildren, Sharla (Derek) Osburn of Lubbock, Bryan (Amanda) Hardin of Shallowater; great-grandchildren, Aspyn, Makaidyn, and Pacyn Osburn, and Jaelyn Hardin.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene Roberts, and sister, Kay Hill.The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Adams Assisted Living and Hospice of Lubbock, especially her nurses Cassandra Justus and Amy Jay.
