We invite you to view the live-streamed service on this page, sign his virtual guestbook, and download his memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing.Elijah “Lige” Marquez was born on October 11, 1995, to Ronnie Marquez and Monica Cisneros in Lubbock, TX, and gained his wings on April 24, 2021.Elijah graduated from Lubbock High, where he continued his relationship with Destiny Jacobo. He loved and adored his Fiancé; they made many memories in the time she had with him. They loved to lounge, stay up late, laugh, and spend quality time with one another. They together raised Ben from a baby and enjoyed every moment with him. Ben was the light of their lives, and they did everything together as a family. He was a barber and had many friends and clientele that he has gained over the years. He loved to cook, watch sports (he knew everything about all of them), gathering for UFC fights, fantasy football with the family, playing games on his PlayStation, rooting on the New York Yankee’s and spending the majority of his time building a bond between him and his son.He was the best uncle to his nieces and nephew. Aryel, Mason, Chloe, and Nia adored their Uncle Lige. He would pick them up from school and spend time with them as much as possible, and the memories they have with him will never fade. Their bond has always been and always will be unbreakable. Lige loved his family so much and always made everyone aware of that. He loved hard, was such a caring person, and his smile lit up a room. He was an amazing son, grandson, nephew, father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He will truly be missed.Survivors include his son, Ben; fiancé, Destiny Jacobo; parents, Ronnie Marquez, Monica (Anthony) Cisneros-Perez; siblings, Joshua and Ronnie Marquez; grandparents, R.W. Marquez, Valentina Pina, Yolanda, and Barbara Cisneros.Elijah was preceded in death by his grandfather, Johnny Alejo Cisneros, and great-grandmother, Lorenza Pina “Grandma Betty.”Special thanks to all the family and friends that have reached out via call, text, and drop-offs. Those that helped with the arrangements, most importantly the thoughts, prayers, and encouraging words sent to the family during this time.
