McCraw was born on July 26, 1939, to Ewell and Mary McCraw in Honey Grove, Texas. Eldon married Vicki Robinson on November 15, 1996. He worked in the grocery business in one form or another for his entire working life, starting at the age of 12 as a sacker for the local Piggly Wiggly in Sherman, TX and went on to become a food broker for Barnett Brothers in Lubbock, TX and then to manage various stores. Eldon was proud of his service in the Air Force and was always ready to tell a story about his time there. To be fair, he was always ready to tell any kind of story. He was a talker and loved to socialize. He had the most piercing grey-blue eyes, which always held a twinkle that went along with his grin built for mischief. He was good with his hands and enjoyed tinkering around the house. He was always a lover of music. He had an instrument or two lying around the house at any given moment. He was kind, giving, and honest and will be sorely missed.Survivors include his wife, Vicki McCraw; a son, Jeffery Scott McCraw, a step-son David (Heather) Rodgers; a step-daughter, Dana (Jared) Squires; three grandchildren, Sydney Squires, Carson (Annie) Squires, Sawyer Squires; brother, Bobby (Wanda) McCraw; four nephews, Bobby McCraw, Jr., Ronald (Peggy) McCraw, Kenny (Jeri) McCraw, and Steve (Denise) McCraw. He was preceded in death by his father, Ewell McCraw; mother, Mary Krebbs; brother, Billy McCraw; sister, Linda Peacock.
