A service to celebrate the life of Elaine “Mamie” McVicker is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends. She passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, surrounded by friends and family. Elaine McVicker was born December 7, 1931, to Otto and Bernice (Craig) Ellis in Plainview, TX. She graduated from Plainview High School and married George D. McVicker on December 23, 1950, in Portales, New Mexico.
Elaine was a homemaker and full-time mother until all her children were in school. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church and worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Gibson’s Pharmacy and later at Teague’s Pharmacy.
Elaine “Mamie” McVicker is survived by her children, Stephanie Lindsey, Sheila Westbrook and fiancé David Noles, and George Dee McVicker, Jr.; grandchildren, Lori Hester and husband Zack, Seth Westbrook, Jordan Engle and husband Bretton, Ryan Westbrook, and AnnDee McVicker; great-grandchildren, Tanner Rodriquez, Tyler Rodriquez, Hayden Hester, and Logan Engle; and sister, Gwyn Wilson and husband Larry; and her precious little companion, Mochie.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Bernice Ellis; husband, George D. McVicker; son, John Stephen McVicker; sister, Charlene Bramlet; brother, Dwayne “Buddy” Ellis; and son-in-law, Steve Lindsey.
