Edna was born on September 18, 1937 to Archie and Imogene (Carter) Gillit in Lamesa. On December 19, 1954 she married Glenn Peters in Lamesa. They moved to Lubbock and Edna worked for her church and Western Hills Academy. She had been a faithful member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church for many years and currently a member of South Park Baptist Church. Edna enjoyed sewing and crocheting in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; a son, Caroll Landon Peters, her twin sister, Carol Cornett, and two brothers, William and Eddie Gillit. Edna is survived by two daughters, Debbie McCollum, and Della (Tim) Schooler, seven grandchildren, Mark McCollum, II, Alisha (Brock) Chilcutt, Randy (Billie) McCollum, Chezla (Brandon) Hagood, Jeremy (Susie) Kimbrell, John (Alyssa) Schooler, and Katie Schooler; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ernie (Sonny) Zimmerman; brother-in-law, Carl Cornett and a sister-in-law, Billie Riddle.
