Eddie Lynn Hickman was born to Pat Hickman and Jerelda Douglas on June 25, 1947, in Lubbock, Texas. Eddie had many accomplishments in his life. Eddie was successful in everything he started. He attended Cooper High School, in Lubbock, where he was the President of his graduating class, captain of the football team, and involved in basketball, track, and baseball. After college, Eddie became a teacher and a coach at Central Christian School in Austin; later going to Lifestyle Christian School in Conroe, where he led the boy’s basketball team to win State in 1990 and 1991; followed by Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, and finally retiring as coach at Liberty Christian School in Denton.

After leaving a successful coaching career, Eddie began a new adventure in selling aggregate materials in west Texas. He was blessed to have worked for several successful companies doing what he learned to love, selling rock.

Despite a busy career, Eddie and his wife, Sharon, were members of Church on the Rock, in Lubbock, where he was a ministering elder. During the several years at Church on the Rock, he made several dear friends, including Pastor Jackie and Linda White.

Eddie’s biggest love and blessing was marrying his beautiful and loving wife, Sharon Ammons Hickman on July 24, 1970. They enjoyed over 50 wonderful and blessed years. Together they shared their children Stover and his wife Amy, Teddy and his wife Cha, Tami, and her husband Kevin. Eddie was a very proud Papa to seven grandchildren Austin, Kirklynn and his wife Cyndi, Calen, and his wife Kalynne, Garrett, Briede, Brayden, Laurel, and Brooklynn. He was a proud great-grandfather of five, Logan, Harper, Landon, Kassie, and Lucas. He had several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly as well.

Eddie has two sisters Pamula Mentel and her husband Adrienne “88” and Linda Knight and step-sister Janette Budenich.

Eddie was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brianna Hickman, mother Jerelda Douglas, father Pat Hickman, stepfather Robert “Bob” Douglas, stepsisters Joyce Harper, Joann Landrum, and stepbrother Ronnie Douglas.

Eddie was loved by so many, but he also loved so many.
