On July 23, 1931, Earl was born to Orin and Bonnie (Mutter) Chism in Amarillo, TX.  His family moved to California where he attended school in Clayton, CA. He went to jr. high and high school in Amarillo.  While in high school he participated in Golden Gloves and was very successful.  He attended West Texas State until he was drafted into the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War.  Upon returning to Amarillo, he worked for the Texaco Refinery.  Then he became a claims adjuster for INA and soon was promoted to claims manager.  He worked for several insurance companies before retiring.

He was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  His family will miss his big easy-going smile.
