Michael “Dylan” Locknane, our precious son, beloved father, and cherished brother, went home on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the age of 32. From the moment he came into this world, he filled our lives with boundless love, laughter, and adventure. Dylan had a passion for fast cars and Air Jordans, but nothing compared to the love he had for his family.
He was the most incredible father—a gift beyond words. From the moment his son, Abel, was born, Dylan poured every ounce of his heart into fatherhood. Weekends were spent at airshows, baseball games, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. He made sure Abel never doubted how deeply he was loved.
Dylan was not only an amazing son but also a light in the lives of everyone who knew him. He had the ability to make you laugh so hard you would cry. His heart was the sweetest, he would give you the shirt off his back even when he had nothing to give, and his laughter was absolutely contagious. He loved with his whole being and made sure those around him felt it.
Dylan was a true jack of all trades—there was nothing he couldn’t do. From a young age, his curiosity knew no bounds; he would take apart his toys just to see if he could put them back together again. That same determination and love for learning stayed with him throughout his life. He found his passion in plumbing and took immense pride in earning his journeyman certification, a milestone that filled him with joy. Dylan’s hands were always busy, his mind always at work, and his heart always full. His presence, his laughter, and his unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Abel Locknane, step-children, Ava and Blaze Nolan, girlfriend, Morgan Nolan, Momma and Stepdad, Dana and Wilbert Byrd, his dad and Stepmom, Mike and Kathy Stump, three sisters, Lexie Byrd, Abby Byrd and Kyla Stump, his Papa, Don Laster, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kaiden Stump, his Nanny, Gale Laster and grandparents, LG and Del Rae Stump.
My son, my heart, my beautiful boy—Dylan, you are loved beyond measure and missed beyond words. Rest in peace, my dear son. Your legacy of love and kindness will live on.
