Dr. Jimmy Dale Jones, Ph.D. was born in Paducah, Texas October 15, 1949, to Elmer and Ruth Jones. He grew up in Paducah where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and graduated from Paducah High School in 1968. Jim passed to his heavenly home on June 27^th after an 11-year battle with prostate cancer.

He retired from MasterCard in 2016 after a career in the telecom industry. He married Lisa Minett in 2000 and they especially enjoyed traveling, boating, family, and life close to, or on, the water. In earlier years he had a passion for Harleys and the comradery while camping and riding with close friends. Interests included woodworking, boating, and learning to bake like his mother. Jim started his custom woodworking business called Island Grafix while living in Galveston. He especially enjoyed hosting family and friends at their canal home in Galveston, visiting the beach, and fishing in the bay.

Hurricanes, the pandemic, and health concerns fueled a decision to move north to Lake Livingston, TX in November 2021—still on the water but much closer to family.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, his mother Ruth, daughters Amber Jones and Lindsey Day (Joshua), grandchildren Jaxon and Zada Day; his sister Debbie McClure (Larry) and various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Jones.

Jim will be incredibly missed and loved by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Celebrations of Life will be held at Lake Ridge Chapel, 6025 82nd St, in Lubbock, TX at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 8^th, 2023, and at Stix Ice House, 301 Eldorado Pkwy #100, McKinney, TX from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 15^th, 2023.

Our deepest sympathy for our Very Dear Friend Jim Jones.

So sorry to read that just now, Jim was my boss in 2002 in Champaign and the best one ever. He was a clever , kind and amazing one. We kept in touch after and it is heart breaking to read that he left us. Sending my love to Lisa and his family.

So sorry for the loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. What a friend! What a mentor. I will miss him greatly. He trusted me and it totally changed the direction of my life. I chuckle every time I think of some of his sayings like: "Don't care what you feel. What does the data say." "Just go do the booga-booga that you do." "After six months, I own that elephant turd in my office...let's get to shoveling." Again you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I met Jim in 1999 during a client call. He become a friend and mentor. His kindness and love of people was what shined from Jim. He gave ever person and situation the best of him. Over the years he shared his knowledge, wisdom and sense of humor. I am grateful for having known him. Condolences to all who knew and loved him.
