Obituary
Dr. Annette E. Smith passed away November 11, 2018. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 58 years on today, November 14, 2018, at 3 p.m. in Sundown room at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas.
Dr. Annette E. Smith was born on April 3, 1960, to Foye Louis Davis and Sarah Antoinette Ivy in Waco, Texas. On March 16, 1992, Annette married, Aaron Smith in Maui, Hawaii.
Dr. Smith attended Midland College and Texas Tech for her degrees, having recently received her doctorate from Texas Tech University. She began teaching at South Plains College in 2005 and served as Full Professor of Education Program Coordinator, Associate of Arts in Teaching with TCCTA. She was a founding member and officer of the Texas Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs. She was recognized for her excellence in teaching as well as receiving many awards. Dr. Smith was an active member of the Rotary International in Levelland, Texas.
Survivors include her father, Foye Louis Davis, and wife, June; mother, Sarah Antoinette Ivy; husband, Aaron Craig Smith; and beloved cousin, Jeremy T. Stone.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Lynn Ivy.
