The family of Dorothy Hall will celebrate her life of 97 years at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Castro Memorial Gardens, in Dimmitt, Texas. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the services. She was the daughter of a pioneering-dustbowl- grapes-of-wrath Texas family who traveled to California as a group of 25 to find work and a better future. Most stayed but Dorothy and Carl Hall managed to always return to Texas. She married Carl Hall on December 3, 1939, in Muleshoe, Texas. Married 70 years, they built a life and produced 66 descendants. They lived many years in Cotton Center and farmed there. They also lived in Roswell, NM, Vacaville, CA, and Monette, MO.Dorothy Cantrell Hall lived 97 years as a devoted Christian, mother, and friend. She loved her family, her dancing friends at Lubbock Senior Citizens Club, and her friends at Lakeridge Nursing Home.Survivors include her children, Nancy Burkhart, Shirley (Don) Gilmore, Garland (Kathy) Hall, Lisa Nall, Lori (Andrew) Kelley; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bob (Beth) Cantrell, and sister, Bonnie (Allen) Van Order.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Hall, her son, Ronnie Hall, and 3 grandchildren.
