A service to celebrate his life of 73 years is scheduled at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. He passed on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
Donald Scott Osborne was born to Jack and Nell Osborne in Perryton, Texas, on September 21, 1949. One year later, his sister Jan was also born in Perryton. In 1953, the family moved to the Osborne family farm in Roberts County, Texas, in the house his grandfather built and where his father was born. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1968 and attended Texas Tech University until he moved back to Pampa to farm with his father.
On June 6, 1975, Scott married Nan and moved her and her two young children, Jeff and Colene, from Lubbock into the house on the farm. In 1976 they added a daughter, Jacque.
Scott loved his family with all his heart and was thrilled with the addition of grandchildren and then great-grandchildren and wore the name “Pa” proudly. Scott worked with Equitable (now AXA) since 1989, helping many in the Texas panhandle. Also, as an avid lover of golf, he spent countless hours enjoying the game with his core group of golfing buddies. Scott was a Red Raider to the core, rarely missing the chance to spend time with friends or family at a game.
Scott is survived by his children, Jeff (Rene) Hofacket, Colene Rice, and Jacque Osborne; grandchildren, Chelsea (Ryan) Ely, Christen (Craig) Vogler, Allyssa (Erik) Pagel, Schanel (Stetson) Williams, Heather (Joey) DeWitt, Elizabeth (Ryan) Skloss, Rachel (Dennis) Sprouse, Tracy (Will) Lester, and Megan Rice; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jan (Wayne) Bufkin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nell Osborne; his wife, Nan Osborne; and a son-in-law, Ron Rice.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Scott Osborne has designated Scottish Rite for Children Learn to Golf program for memorial contributions donated in his memory. https://scottishriteforchildren.org/becoming-our-patient/therapeutic-sports-recreation/learn-to-golf
