For his formative years, he lived in Jackson, North Carolina graduating from Jackson High School in 1963. The family moved to Lubbock where he attended Texas Technological College graduating in 1968. He furthered his education by graduating from Wayland Baptist College in 1976. He was a brilliant man whose knowledge was limitless and he was respected by many. Following his retirement from the LPD he served as a Texas Tech officer for several years. Throughout his career, he displayed unwavering commitment and professionalism, making a lasting impact on those he encountered. Donald’s passion for his work was evident to all, as he selflessly dedicated himself to the safety and well-being of his community.
