Rex Cotten left a message on July 23, 2020:
Virginia, Nan, Mary and NathanThe first cousins of many Cotten children that I had attending me as a young baby were Bub and Jimmie Lee, probably about age 11 and 14. If I find the picture of them taking care of me, I’ll send a copy. From early childhood, I was always impressed with Ruby’s thoughtful notes to me that displayed her excellent penmanship and when Bub was in from Texas Tech, his intellect on almost any subject ranging from Texas Tech sports to high level literature which, I assure you, went way beyond my pay grade.I hope you are focusing on the good times spent with a fantastic individual. Sorry for your loss.Rex

My family and I loved the Cottens. We were good friends at First Christian Church and in private life. I haven't seen you in years. My sweetheart, Buell also stepped into heaven yesterday morning (July 8, 2020) just after midnight. I am sorry for you loss. I have dear memories of Don, Virginia, Nan, Mary and Nathan. My prayer for you is for comfort and also joy because of his homegoing. Love you all, Anna Foley

Dear family,I just found out recently that we are kin. Elaina is friend of my son Gene Verinder in their Plano church. My family branched off yours several years back. Don sounded like a wonderful Christian man. I wish I had known him because I like to write too. May God sustain you all in your loss and may we all meet up one day in Heaven.Yours in Christ, Jeannine Cotten Verinder

Dearest Virginia, Nan, Mary & Nathan,Randy had contacted Richard Dale, Rex and me of Bub's untimely death and my heart is so sad. Of course, it has been many years since I've seen all of you, but Bub was always the nicest, sweetest cousin to me. Forever will be thankful to him for our grandmother's unique and most treasured name - "Co-Momma". I could never imagine calling her anything else. Randy also said he would keep us informed when the memorial service is scheduled. May God's loving arms surround each of you now and in the days ahead.
