Dewain, you were always a true Friend. I remember the very first time that I met you...way back in 1983!!! When you were on the console, you took care of each of us and did everything you could to make sure we ended our shift safely. You sleep easy in God's arms, my Friend. I will see you again!!! To Dewain's family, thank you for sharing him with us for so many years and may God bless each of you.

An officer could not have had a better friend or neighbor than Dewayne......He will be missed so much, that you can't put your true feelings into words.......I will never forget the time and trips we had together, especially to the Big Bend area of Texas. Dwayne loved the outdoors so much.....and I never heard him ever complain about anything or anybody...he was always happy about everything and had a smile you can't forget.... Sgt. Glenn Fant
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

To the Collins family- I met Dewain while I a visiting my sister Linda Hsglr at DPS in the 1980s. It was an honor to stop by communications and learn from him. Also for several years , we would see him at the National Cowboy Symposium in Lubbock to listen to some good cowboy music and poetry. He always called me Kid and I appreciated him in many ways- I am unable to attend the services but I will never forget my friend Dewain Collins- gone from sight but never really gone Friends forever Mary Hagle Throckmorton, Texas
