Deonne Schultz of Lubbock went home to be with the Lord Monday morning, May 14, leaving behind a world that is better for her presence and wisdom that will live on for generations. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 62 years on Monday, May 21, 2018, at 1 PM at LakeRidge United Methodist Church Wesley Chapel.
Deonne was born on August 29, 1955, in Corona, CA. She was known as Dee to most and Mom to the lucky-a title earned by her compassion for everyone, no matter the formal relation-passed unexpectedly, after one more blessed Mother’s Day surrounded by loved ones.
She embodied the terms peacemaker and nurturer and was defined by her love of people, plants and animals. Dee’s mere presence would bring harmony to a room, and, if you joined her for a cup of coffee, you’d have a better understanding of yourself before the drink had a chance to cool.
She was preceded in death by father, Dave Almond Crockett Metz.
Deonne is survived by her loving husband, Allan Paul Schultz; daughter, Danielle Gayle Schultz and fiancé, Marc Stevens; son, Richard Allan Schultz all of Lubbock; mother, Monirie Metz; siblings, Linda Metz, Dave Metz and wife, Cathy all of Wilmington, NC, and Debbie Hinson and husband, David of Winnabow, NC; father-in-law, Allan Schultz and wife, Susan; mother-in-law, Gayle O’Brien and husband, Maurie all of Sparks, NV; and a special daughter of the heart, Nicole Hudson and her daughter, Isabel Hudson Espinosa of Lubbock.
