Delvin L. Morris, 65, of Lubbock, Texas, was born the third son to SMSgt. George J and Mary Ann Roybal Morris, in Wiesbaden, Germany, January 8, 1955. Delvin passed away, Sunday, November 1, 2020 at University Medical Center. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and became a flight engineer based out of Clearwater, Florida, until honorably discharged in 1977. He continued his education with business degrees. His professional work history included Branch Manager, Lance, Inc., where he won numerous, Salesman of the Year, Top Dollar, and Presidential Awards. He also worked for Nature’s Own of Flowers Foods, Halliburton, Great Wide, Cardinal, and Western Dairy Transport, where he was working at the time of death. Delvin was a very disciplined individual with a diversified background. He loved working for WDT and was a hardworking man who never took off for being ill until his illness hit him hard in the last few weeks.Retirement was in his future, and couldn’t wait to travel and go to more concerts. He loved Chevrolet, country music, old rock & roll, and dancing. He was a good man and will be missed by those that truly knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Danny, and David Morris.Delvin is survived by brothers, George Morris of Georgia, John P. Morris, Albuquerque, New Mexico, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and close friends and neighbors.Delvin will Lay in Repose at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 9 am to 8 pm. If you are unable to attend, please sign the virtual guestbook.Interment will be Tuesday, November 17, 2020, 10:30 am MST at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico, under the direction of Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, Lubbock, Texas. Services will be limited to 25 people and masks are required.
