Debbie Walls

The family of Debbie Yoakum will celebrate her life of 65 years at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Monterey Church of Christ. The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Monday, August 17, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers.  She passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020. In support of the health of her family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service and visitation.  You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.Debbie Yoakum was born on February 10, 1955, to David and Lola Hucks in Lubbock, TX. She worked in communications at UMC Hospital for the last 17 years.  Debbie was devoted to caring for others and had the biggest heart you’ve ever seen.  She touched so many lives during her time working at the hospital and developed lifelong friendships.  Debbie’s greatest love of all was for her grandbabies: Taylor, Taryn, Madison, and Easton. These 4 were her reason for living, and her Never Give Up attitude.  She was going to fight with everything she had to be with them whenever, wherever possible. Debbie loved traveling with them to watch their sports and dance competitions.  They were her joy. You only had to mention their names, and she would have the biggest smile on her face.  She always said her grandbabies were her world, and you could see it every time she was with them!  Debbie also loved spending time with “her boys.” She was “mom” to these boys – not by birth but by LOVE.  She loved spending time with them cooking out or tailgating the Red Raiders.  Her heart was big, and she loved spending time with her kids, grandbabies, and family.  Debbie’s love was always felt and will definitely be missed.Survivors include her children, Holly Mayfield and husband Neal of Denton Heather Madlock and husband Jerry of Boerne and Chad Stallings and wife Beth of Lubbock; four grandchildren, Taylor Madlock, Taryn Madlock, Madison Douglass, and Easton Mayfield; as well as two brothers, Terry Hucks and wife Mindy of San Antonio, and Shawn Hucks of Lubbock.She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Brenda.
