Daniel Steven Freeman, a beloved husband, devoted father, and beloved son, passed away on November 9, 2024, at the age of 44 after fighting a hard battle with cancer. He was born on September 10, 1980, in Clovis, NM to Kathi O’Brien David and Steven Freeman.
Daniel touched the lives of many through his work and his passions. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of service that will never be forgotten. Throughout his career, Daniel served in various organizations, including the Clovis Fire Department, Curry County Sheriff’s Office, and Clovis Police Department. He was known for his unwavering dedication and commitment to helping those in need and making a lasting impact on his community. Daniel moved to Lubbock, TX with Amber in June 2014 as he began his career as a conductor with BNSF Railway.
Daniel married the love of his life, Amber Wyman, on May 23, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Amherst, TX. Together they had a son, Daxton, who was the joy of Daniel’s life and is 6 years old.
Beyond his professional life, Daniel found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a love for the outdoors, grilling, spending time with friends, and collecting sports memorabilia. His favorite pastime was gaming and building Legos with his son and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He is preceded in death by grandfathers; Rufus Freeman and Robert O’Brien; uncles, Kevin O’Brien, Jeff Freeman, and Paul Freeman; cousin, Johnny Freeman.
Daniel is survived by wife, Amber Freeman; son, Daxton; mother, Kathi (Don) David; father, Steve (Esther) Freeman; siblings, Brittney David, Nathan Freeman; grandparents, Jeanne O’Brien, Marjorie Freeman-Noble, Shirley Wyman; nephew, Jason Freeman; nieces, Sophia Freeman, Natalee Freeman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Brad (Debbie) Wyman; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
The family has chosen to celebrate Daniel’s life during the special weekend of January 31, 2025, with details to be announced.
As we come together to honor Daniel’s life and legacy, let us remember his unwavering dedication, his faith, his kind spirit, and the impact he had on all those fortunate enough to have known him. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and his memory will continue to inspire us all.
