The family of Daniel Nephi Henderson, DDS, will celebrate his life of 76 years at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Dan passed away December 12, 2020, in Lubbock, Texas due to COVID-19 at the age of 76. In support of the health of his family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service. The service will be live-streamed on this page, where you are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy.Dan was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Whittier, California. He graduated from Whittier Union High School in 1962, Brigham Young University in 1966, and in 1971, Dan graduated from Loyola University-Chicago College of Dental Surgery. He went on to complete a two-year anesthesia residency at the University of Chicago. He set up a dental practice in the small town of Galatia, Illinois. After Galatia, Dan moved to Lubbock, Texas to practice dentistry with his brother Daryl where he met his sweet wife Ruth.Dr. Dan Henderson was loved and respected by his patients as well as those who worked with him. For several years, he volunteered a half-day a week at the Lubbock Health Department and Lubbock State School providing conscious sedation for dental procedures on special needs patients. Through the years, he supported missionaries in multiple countries as his faith in Jesus Christ was of utmost importance to him. It was common for him to give discounts or free care to patients in need. Dan was driven by quality and compassionate dental care, and he went on multiple medical missions to Mexico to serve those in need. He continued to practice until 2017.Among other interests, Dan enjoyed building computers, riding go-carts with his children and grandchildren, grilling amazing steaks, and taking his dog Lottie to the dog park. He loved the word of God and enjoyed participating in worship services.Dan was preceded in death by his father Richard A. Henderson, his mother Irma Gleissner Henderson, his sister Peggy Wilson, and his daughter Susan Kristine Coll.He is survived by his wife, Ruth Brozo Henderson; children, Dodie (David) Clark, Daniel (Jennie) Henderson, Cheryl (Mike) Wells, Jon (Michelle) Coll, Sarah (Doug) Benns, Cindy (Ryan) Stewart, Timothy Henderson, Kristian Grant, Adam (Mia) Henderson, Jason (Jessica) Woods, Jered (Crystal) Woods, Jacob (Liz) Woods.He is also survived by his grandchildren, including David Clark, Amy Freeman, Erica Larson, Austin Clark, Mandi Baker, Seth Henderson, Cole Henderson, Sam Henderson, and Robert Henderson; Jack, Noah and Rachel Coll; Zachary, Susie, and Mary Carol Conger, Derrick and Rosa Wells, Allison, Alexis, and Douglas Benns, Aysia, Ella and Charlie Stewart, Madalynn and Jackson Henderson, Czer, Mariah, Jaden, Jakobi and Tatum Grant, Dallas, Ryleigh and Landyn Henderson, Nola, Mason, and Ruby Woods, Jacie, Brooke, and Logan Woods, Stone and Capri Woods.Great-grandchildren include Nico, Regi, Leo, and Natalia Clark; Noah, Ellery and Isaac Freeman; Benny, Gwen, and Magnus Larson; Owen Clark; Kale, Christian and Killian Baker; Isaac Henderson and Jackson Henderson.Dan is also survived by his two brothers – Richard A. Henderson and Daryl (Carmen) Henderson.
