Dan was born on July 15, 1952 to Charles and Alice Roberts Reid in Lubbock, Texas. On March 14, 1992, Dan married the love of his life, Linda Neskorik in Lubbock, Texas.Dan had a distinguished career with the Lubbock Fire Department from May of 1981 through July of 2010. He served in many capacities over his career ending as a Deputy Fire Marshall. At the time of his death, he was Fire Marshall for Wolfforth, Texas as well as serving many communities through Reid Fire Code Consulting in the same manner. Dan also was a member of the Texas National Guard serving for many years. During his time with the Guard, he went on active duty serving a tour at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, after 9-11. He achieved the rank of 1 SG and was awarded the Lone Star Distinguished Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife Linda Reid, two daughters, Christi McClure and husband, Jason; and Amanda Lester; step-children, Geary Dawson and Meghan Kino; grandchildren, Petra, Josiah, and Jacob; twin sister, Denise Ellington and husband, Bari; sister, Barbara Reid Hooper and husband, Steven. Nieces, Alecia Hancock and husband Eddie Joe, Rochelle Ford and husband Chad, Whitney Stine, and families. Nephews, Nathan and Christopher Hooper, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Hugh and Alice Reid, brother; Michael Charles Reid and Sister CheriReid.
