Obituary

Cody James Moreno, 28, was born on June 4, 1991, to his father, James Moreno, and mother, Leslie Munoz, in Lubbock, Texas. Cody passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020. His family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, under the guidelines of the city officials. We will celebrate his life of 28 years at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel. In support of the health of our community, the seating is limited due to the social distancing requirement set by Governor Abbott.  The service will be private, and no guests will be allowed to attend the in-person event at this time. The service will be live-streamed and be available for thirty days on this page. You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.

Cody could brighten a room upon entering it and was the life of the party. He could put a smile on anyone’s face with his humor, spunk, and zest for life. At a young age, Cody took pride in taking things apart and putting them back together. Even if it was not returned to its previous form, this practice led him to the tinkering and rebuilding of cars and motors with his dad. They spent many hours side by side, creating memories. He truly had a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends hard and would do anything for them.

Cody was taken too soon and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his father, James Moreno; mother, Leslie Munoz; sisters Haylie Moreno, Amber Hulcy, and Rebecca Moreno; brother Kyle Moreno; niece Trislyn; nephews Landen and Adrian, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Santos and Juanita Moreno and uncles, Enrique Moreno and Zane Smith.
