Cody Brian Jones

Cody Brian Jones, a beloved husband, devoted father, loving Pappy J and respected member of the community, passed away on September 27, 2023, at the age of 47. Born on December 13, 1975, in Lamesa, Texas, Cody was a loving and charismatic individual who touched the lives of many.

Cody thrived as a Construction Superintendent for Henthorn Construction. His unwavering work ethic and passion for his craft were evident to all who worked alongside him. With his associate degree and years of experience, Cody became a true asset to the construction world.

Outside of his profession, Cody cherished his time with loved ones, especially his son. He was known for his love of Texas Tech football and basketball, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. His enthusiasm for the game was contagious. Whether he was cheering on his favorite team or spending quality time with his family, Cody’s vibrant spirit and infectious laughter filled every room he entered.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Shelly Jones, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Cody’s pride and joy were his two children, Christian and Kateleigh Jones, and stepchildren Maverick and Kristlyn Sumpter, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life. He is survived by his devoted parents, Larry and Janis Jones, his dear sister Emily Johnson, nephew Carter Johnson, and niece Chloe Johnson. He was a loving Pappy J to Paxton Ham, Carson Ham and Declan Sumpter.  Cody also shared a strong bond with many others, who will forever hold fond memories of their time together.

Following the services, Cody will be laid to rest at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery.

Cody will forever be remembered for his unwavering spirit, kind heart, and infectious smile. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
