The family of Clydell Hoffman will celebrate her life of 87 years at 10:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020. In support of the health of the family, face coverings are mandatory while attending the service and visitation. You are encouraged to sign the virtual guestbook and share memories and expressions of sympathy by selecting the icon.Virginia Clydell Hoffman was born on May 5, 1933, to Clyde and Lillian (neé Richey) McGinley in Amarillo, Texas. She married Francis Mayo Hoffman on November 3, 1951, in Slaton, Texas. An avid musician, Clydell taught piano lessons to local children as well as playing piano and singing in the choir at her church. She supported her husband, F.M., as a bookkeeper for his business, Hoffman Floor Covering, and Cabinet Tops. She enjoyed being involved in her children’s education and social activities. Later, Clydell and F.M. were involved in several social clubs, most notably Hub City Wheels. They spent several decades traveling across the country, but most often taking their travels to Oklahoma and Tolar to visit their grandchildren.Survivors include her son, Clyde Mayo Hoffman; daughter, Teresa Ann Berger and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Elizabeth Freeman and husband T.C., Christopher Berger and wife Stephanie, and Nathan Hoffman; and four great-grandchildren; Tommy, Laura, Emma, and Blakely.She is proceeded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lillian McGinley; sister Barbara Culver; and spouse Francis Mayo Hoffman.
