Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life of 62 years on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Graveside service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Admiral Cemetery. A tribute of Ursula’s life may be found at, where you may leave memories and expressions of sympathy for her family.

Clyda Ursula Walker was born in Abilene, TX, to James and Clyda Walker on January 20, 1956. She graduated from Baird High School in 1974, Abilene Commercial College and later Texas Tech University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Ursula is preceded in death by her father, James and her brother, Charles “Hoot” Walker.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Peeples; mother, Clyda Walker; daughters and son-in-laws, Becca and Allan Ahern and Brooke and Paul Schafer; daughter, Jill Baum; step-sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel Peeples and Michael and Elena Peeples; brother, Jimmy Walker; sister and brother-in-law, Pattie and Travis Keath and a nephew, Matthew Keath.

We want to thank Interim Hospice for all they did to make her months at home comfortable. So much compassion, caring, and love for their patients. Over the course of the past several years we were so fortunate to have several ladies that were with Ursula as her caregivers. Each one had a very special impact on her life. We were so blessed to have such loving and wonderful people helping through her last months.

Daughter, sister, mother, wife, Ursula will be greatly missed. Every day will be filled with her memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79411.

  1. I have so many fond memories of my time with Ursula at Lubbock Meals on Wheels. She had a fabulous sense of humor and was one of the hardest working people I have ever met. She loved our Mardi Gras event and made sure we all had plenty of glitter for the festive occasion! She loved her family and friends and I’m so glad I got to be a part of her life. It is with deepest sympathy that we all send our thoughts of comfort to her family during this difficult time. Rest in peace our dear friend. Thank you for all you did for Lubbock Meals on Wheels and caring about our mission and those we serve.

  2. Becca, Brooke and Jill, It breaks my heart to hear about your Mom. She was such a special person and she loved her girls. You were always first in her life. I loved her strength and positive attitude. My your wonderful memories of her give you comfort at this time. Becca, Brooke, & Jill: So sorry to hear about your Mother. Remembering great memories of her and you girls as you grew up together with my girls in church and school. Sorry I was unable to be at the visitation and service. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
