Cindy was born on May 7, 1947, to Ernest and Virginia Reid in Lubbock, Texas.  On June 11, 1966, Cindy married her junior high sweetheart, David Jones, at Second Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas.  While attending Texas Tech University she started her career in the travel business at Braniff International Airlines as a ticket agent.  After Braniff, she tried her hand at being a travel agent with World Wide Travel and continued as a travel agent until her death.  She and David owned their own agency for several years, (Travel Travel Global) but for the last 25 years she has worked at Prince Jones Travel.  In 1970 she and David welcomed their first daughter, Kristi Jill Jones, and in 1975, they welcomed their second child, Lori Jones Birdsinger.  Her daughters were her world and she doted over them her entire life as she spent many years following them in dancing, band, track, volleyball and softball.  In her and David’s younger years, they were both members of the Lubbock Jaycee’s.  Cindy had the privilege of being elected to serve as the President of the Texas Jaycee Women from 1982-1983. While serving her local community and state, she received numerous awards and recognition for her outstanding leadership and communication skills. Cindy was also an avid Texas Tech fan and has remained a Texas Tech football season ticket holder since 1966 (51 years).  Those who knew her knew not to talk bad about her Red Raiders or they were in for the fight of their life.  When she wasn’t cheering on her Red Raiders, she was cruising the seven seas or pulling the one arm bandit on the Vegas strip as she was also an avid traveler.  In 2007, with the arrival of her only grandson, Houston, she had a brand new perspective on life–spoiling him!  And, boy, did she do a good job.  Lastly, another love of her life were her animals as she never went a day in her life without a pet of some kind.  Survivors include her husband, H. David Jones; their children, Kristi Jones; and Lori Birdsinger and husband, Brett; and grandson, Houston Birdsinger.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Lee and Virginia Reid.The family requests that friends and family wear Texas Tech tee shirts to the visitation and Red and Black to the Celebration of Life Service.
