Upon graduation from Monterey High School, she attended Texas Tech University and developed an interest in computer science and accounting.
After marrying her high school sweetheart, Johnny, they lived in Fort Worth, Enid, and Amarillo before returning to Lubbock.
Cindy and Johnny had two children John Bennett Altman, of Lubbock and Tamara Altman Warfield, of McKinney.
Cindy returned to Tech as an employee and proudly worked in the Payroll Department for almost two decades.
Cindy loved her children with everything she had and adored her four grandchildren; she treasured every moment spent with them. She loved fiercely and she passionately expressed her opinions.
After a recent health challenge, Cindy fought intently until she could not fight anymore. Her family and friends supported her as she rested and rejoined her parents and other loved ones on the other side.
