A service to celebrate the life of Christy Ferguson’s 55 years of life is scheduled at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, followed by a time of fellowship with family and friends. She died on Monday, October 23, 2023.
Christy was born January 18, 1968, to Harold and Janice Krapf Baker in Fort Worth, TX. They moved to Amarillo in 1969. Christy attended elementary, middle school, and high school all in Amarillo, later moving to Louisiana the summer before her senior year. She graduated from Deridder High School in Louisiana in 1986. Christy attended Metro Business Academy, graduating in November of 1990.
Christy worked as a personal secretary to Joe Wells (land broker) then went to work for Amarillo Globe News until 2001. She then spent her time as a stay-at-home mom, working with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and teaching Missionettes. When Christy decided it was time to go back to work, she worked faithfully at Gebo’s for 16 ½ years and worked her way up to a purchasing agent. She married Gary Ferguson on July 14th, 1992, in Amarillo, Texas.
Christy is survived by husband, Gary Ferguson; children, Karri Bolton, Jennifer Ferguson, Logan Ferguson; mother, Janice Moore (Larry); siblings, Russell (Janna) Baker, Brad (Dena) Baker; numerous nieces and nephews, and other beloved family members.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harold Baker.
